Marvel at the pomp and pageantry of the Edinburgh Tattoo
The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is a dazzling spectacle that takes place each year on the esplanade of the striking Edinburgh Castle. On this special four-day trip you'll have a seat for the Tattoo so you can take in all the pageantry for yourself.
The Tattoo is an important part of the city's summer arts festivals and draws crowds from all over the world who come to see the spectacle of almost 1,000 musicians, pipers, drummers, singers and dancers performing against the backdrop of the illuminated castle.
You'll be based in a centrally-located hotel in Glasgow during your trip, allowing you to easily travel to Edinburgh for a memorable day out.
Before the Tattoo in the evening, take the time to visit Princess Street, the historic Edinburgh Castle on Castle Rock, St Giles Cathedral, the Sir Walter Scott monument and the Royal Mile. You might also like to visit the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the King's official residence in Scotland.
Another day will be spent exploring the delights of Glasgow, first on a short guided tour and then independently. perhaps visiting the Glasgow Cathedral or City Chambers and strolling through George Square with beautiful views of the historic buildings in the centre of the city.
Alternatively, you might choose to take a excursion to the Trossachs and Loch Lomond, an outstandingly beautiful area of mountains, lochs, rivers and woodlands steeped in history and hour-long circular cruise on one of the most scenic parts of the Loch.

Today you'll make your way to Glasgow, and transfer to your centrally-located hotel.
You'll be welcomed by your tour manager at the hotel and have some time to settle into your room and get to know your surroundings.
You'll then have the rest of the free day to explore Glasgow at your own pace, perhaps enjoying dinner at the hotel or one of the nearby restaurants.

Day2The Royal Edinburgh Military TattooEdinburgh, United Kingdom
This morning, after breakfast at the hotel, you'll set off to Edinburgh.
On arrival in Edinburgh, you'll have a tour of the most famous sights before some free time to explore at your own pace.
To get into the spirit of things, why not call at the Spirit of the Tattoo? This interactive exhibition reveals the story and mythology surrounding the Tattoo and is an ideal way to learn a little more about the history of the famous event.
Later, you'll make your way to the esplanade of Edinburgh Castle for the performance of the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo - it's a dazzling and unforgettable spectacle.
Highlights include the sight of the massed pipes, drums and military bands as they emerge from the huge castle gates and fill the air with stirring music, and the iconic sight of the lone piper silhouetted against the backdrop of the sky as he patrols the battlements above.

Day3Walking tour of GlasgowGlasgow, United Kingdom
After another breakfast at the hotel, join your tour manager for a short walking tour of Glasgow.
Spend some more time independently exploring all that Glasgow has to offer, perhaps visiting the Glasgow Cathedral or City Chambers and strolling through George Square with beautiful views of the historic buildings in the centre of the city.
If you wish, you can also join an optional excursion to the Trossachs and Loch Lomond, a beautiful area of mountains, lochs, rivers and woodlands.
Later in the day, enjoy an optional hour-long circular cruise on one of the most scenic parts of the Loch, taking in Ben Lomond and surrounding area. The live commentary on board will ensure that you don't miss a thing.

After a final breakfast at the hotel it's time to say farewell to Glasgow as you return to the airport or train station for your journey home.
