You'll set sail from Newcastle and cruise along the Noordzeekanaal, Amsterdam's direct link to the North Sea. Along the banks of this important waterway you'll spot fascinating fortifications from World War Two, huge power plants, serene beaches and sprawling nature reserves.
At the end of the Noordzeekanaal you'll arrive in Amsterdam, the Netherland's vibrant capital. Explore this much loved city, renowned for its peaceful canals, perfect for exploring by boat. Alternatively, you might choose to take in the sights of the city and its surrounding countryside by bike.
You'll spend two days in Amsterdam, giving you plenty of time to enjoy its world-famous museums, including Rijksmuseum and Anne Frank's House.
In Rotterdam, you'll find yourself perfectly positioned to visit Kinderdijk, famous for its iconic windmills designed to protect the land from flooding.
Indulge in local delicacies such as Stroopwafels, Bitterballen, and the celebrated cheeses of Gouda and Edam. Each destination offers a deep dive into the local art scene, from admiring the masterpieces of Rembrandt and Van Gogh to touring the Royal Delft pottery factory, where you can watch artists demonstrate their hand-painting techniques.

Today you'll make your way to Newcastle, where you'll board your home-from-home for the next five nights, the stylish ship Borealis.
You'll depart from Newcastle in the early evening and set sail for the Netherlands. While at sea, take some time to get to know your ship's facilities, which include several lounges, bars, restaurants and wide-open deck spaces as well as a swimming pool and two Jacuzzis.
Today you'll cruise into the North Sea Canal, or Noordzeekanaal, Amsterdam's direct link to the North Sea and one of the country's busiest and most important shipping lanes.
Despite its industrial importance, there's a lot more to this winding waterway than just container ships.
Along the banks of the 16-mile-long canal - from the mouth at Ijmuiden, to the end in Amsterdam - you'll spot several interesting fortifications from World War Two, huge power plants, beaches and nature reserves.
Today you'll explore Amsterdam, the famous city of canals and bikes.
Historic Amsterdam is a network of waterways lined with elegant merchant homes, museums and friendly cafés.
The iconic Canal Ring is best explored by glass-topped boat, passing significant monuments and seeing the city from a different perspective.
You may also choose to visit the poignant Anne Frank House, where Anne and her family hid from the Germans during the Second World War.
Today you'll sail into Rotterdam, the Netherlands' second largest city. Rotterdam has a diverse community, a captivating maritime history, and an abundance of excellent museums to explore.
When you arrive, you will find the city is an open air exhibition of fantastic futuristic architecture. This modern architecture is a result of the destruction of large parts of the city during World War II.
Today you'll spend a full day at sea, giving you plenty of opportunity to make the most of the fabulous facilities on board Borealis.
Perhaps you'll head to the Observatory, to hear commentary from onboard experts, or kick back in the Atlantis Spa, where there's a range of luxurious treatments to choose from.
In the evening, enjoy your final dinner on board with your fellow travellers, a good chance to reflect on the adventures of the previous few days.
You'll arrive back in Newcastle early this morning, where your Dutch adventure comes to an end.
