WHAT WE LOVE...

In the heart of the spa town of Ilkley, between the famous moors and the river, this eye-catching building combines a boutique hotel, a French bistrot and a modern pub. The grand Victorian building, with its handsome curved frontage - hence the name - has been given a modern makeover that still retains its classic good looks. On one side, a long, rustic style bar with stripped-wood floor and open fire welcomes with Yorkshire real ales and classic pub food while on the other side a buzzy Parisian-style bistrot of globe chandeliers and panelled walls serves up French classics and a lively atmosphere.

Bedrooms and suites on the floors above have a neat, contemporary style in cool colours and with the occasional piece of French Provencal furniture; cosy rather than lavish although the suites - with full-size kitchens - are ideal for families.

Style & Character

Perfect for couples and travellers who want a buzzy base - there's also a large convivial bar - that's in the heart of the town. Both the restaurant and the bar are well-used by locals so it feels immediately warm, friendly and relaxed.

Service & Facilities

The bar has a toasty open fire; a lovely spot to warm up after a blowy walk on the fabled Ilkley Moor.

Rooms

The front-facing rooms have the best views over the town while the suites are decadently large, cool and minimalist, and with full-size kitchens. We loved the photography: famous Yorkshire people - Barry Dryer, Alan Titchmarsh - up the staircase, and the moody black-and-white local landscapes in each bedroom.

Bistro Pierre: seasonal, French-style cooking. Open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner
The Crescent: fairly-priced wine list and local real ales
