WHAT WE LOVE...

When approaching the imposing 1,501 room Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel, the property's vast spread of lawn and forest, particularly beyond the golf course, give the feeling of stepping back in time. These 225 acres of tropical plants intermingled with pines are designed to exude an old Floridian feel before you've even stepped inside the lobby. The equally vast downstairs is also vintage, decorated in Spanish Revival Style with vaulted ceilings and wooden décor. But, beyond the design, what makes this resort special is there is something for everyone, from families to couples, solo travellers to business travellers. It has four swimming pools, an enormous 1200 sq. metre spa, 18-hole championship golf course, restaurants, cafés, bars and extensive conference facilities. Conveniently positioned for theme parks, downtown Orlando, the Orange County Conference Centre and, also, the International Airport only a 15 minute drive away, this is an excellent location for an Orlando break.

Style & Character

This property is ideal for families with older children but is also romantic and quiet enough for couples of any age. A nice balance is struck between modern and historic with the spa adding an almost Moroccan feel. Without a doubt, fans of old-fashioned heavy dark wood will be very happy.

The bedroom was well laid out and a good size, with comfortable Queen beds. Having a desk to work at, even if only to keep up with social media, is always a bonus. Having a long, spacious counter combined with a sink made getting ready in the morning so much easier.

Food & Drink

The VIP Concierge Lounge on the 14th floor with breakfast, happy hour treats and cocktails was our favourite spot. At Mi Casa Tequila Taqueria, the guacamole made at the table and to the diner's specifications was authentic and delicious.

Cafe Osceola: buffet breakfast and à la carte menu available. Open daily, 6:30-10:30am.
Mi Casa Tequila Taqueria: Mexican cuisine, hand-crafted margaritas. Open for lunch, Fri-Sat and dinner, Thu-Sun.
