Hotel Review
The William Vale, New York, USA
Located in the trendy and creative Williamsburg neighbourhood of Brooklyn, this hip 183-room hotel that opened in 2016 is housed in a sleek 23-storey futuristic skyscraper. Locals and guests alike love the retro-style 22nd floor bar with fantastic cinematic skyline views of Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn, the romantic Italian restaurant helmed by a Michelin-starred chef and the fabulous rooftop pool, the largest outdoor pool of any hotel in New York. The contemporary guest rooms all have furnished balconies and uplifting décor with upscale amenities and artworks by local artists. There's a state-of-the-art gym.

The hotel attracts mostly leisure travellers, but perhaps generally a slightly younger crowd. We loved Westlight, the 22nd-floor bar, which boasts swish retro furniture and great skyline views.

Westlight has spectacular views of Manhattan and Brooklyn from the floor-to-ceiling windows and outdoor terrace. It's so popular - expect a queue of non-guests waiting to enter.
