Hotel Review
HI NYC Hostel, New York, USA
This huge, historic youth hostel is America's largest, and is a designated New York landmark. The Hostelling International hostel was originally built for the Association Residence for Respectable Aged and Indigent Females in 1881. It is located in the Bloomingdale neighbourhood of the Upper West Side, which stretches from 96th to 110th Street. The building feels spacious throughout due to the big rooms, high ceilings and bright, simple décor. The facilities are pretty extensive and include a café, several seating and lounge areas, a large, well-equipped kitchen and lockers. There are several dormitory sizes as well as spacious private rooms sleeping up to four, some en-suite. Regular live events, pub crawls, guided walks and welcoming parties are an added bonus.

The café food is of good quality and good value - in particular, we loved the cinnamon buns.
