Hotel Review
The Oaksmere Hotel, Eye, Suffolk
A boutique country house hotel on the Suffolk-Norfolk border, The Oaksmere bills itself as a place to 'wine, dine and recline' - which sums it up rather well, as an excellent venue for doing nothing much in particular. Set in 17 acres of its own grounds, in a rural part of East Anglia that's not big on essential sights, it has a strangely isolated feel for somewhere so easy to reach; there's not really much more to do than drink, eat and lounge about and read the papers. It has its own excellent restaurant, a pubby bar, and a set of spacious and very comfy rooms that are as good a reason as any to come and stay.
