Hotel Review
Grand Hotel Central, Barcelona, Spain
This elegant, creatively revamped property with an imposing 1920s façade straddles two fab neighbourhoods, the Gothic and Born districts, with their close proximity to top attractions, bars, cafes, restaurants and boutiques. The gorgeous rooftop infinity pool and bar offer panoramic city views, there's an inviting ground floor bar, while the restaurant will satisfy the most demanding gastronome. There's a small but well-equipped fitness centre on-site as well as a spa offering numerous treatments. Antique furnishings, original marble and a two-tiered, circular library with mahogany shelves populated with antique books inject lots of character. Guest rooms are toned down in cream, grey and dark wood.

Style & Character
The hotel is particularly popular with affluent middle-aged couples. The half-worn away white marble slab at the entrance with the hotel's name emblazoned on it gives an air of elegance. It's a reminder of the impressive history of this place; years of endless horse drawn carriages riding through caused it to wear away.
