WHAT WE LOVE...

Arrive in the dark and you'll think Christmas has come early as you set eyes upon this historic inn decked out in bright little white lights, a welcome sight amongst the jet-black wilderness of the Scottish Highlands. If you want to stay in a supremely comfortable mountain inn amongst a remote backdrop, the Cluanie Inn by Loch Cluanie won't disappoint. It is ideal for hikers, bikers, anglers and those who simply want to get away from it all, rather than those craving nightlife, shopping and a host of visitor attractions. The inn dates back to 1787, when it was an isolated staging post, situated where drovers of old moved hordes of cattle and sheep over the Highlands landscape. It's been thoughtfully renovated to reflect its history.
