WHAT WE LOVE...

The Swan has been a fixture of the attractive town of Loddon since the 18th century. Extensively renovated not long ago, it offers comfortable and characterful guest rooms, a homely bar area and a very pleasant restaurant offering excellent menus. It manages to be a down-to-earth pub popular with both locals and visitors alike, as well as offering fine restaurant offerings and boutique accommodation. Located on the main street, it is moments away from the River Chet, popular with tourists for its attractive scenery, rich wildlife and numerous boat moorings. The nearby surroundings offer wonderful walks, cycle routes, boating and birdwatching, and the village's fine buildings include a medieval church.

The rooms have a good mix of contemporary styling with characterful vintage touches. We love those little touches that add character, such as a large antique illustration of birds, or a vintage piece of furniture.

The wine list, though not huge, is well-chosen, with a good choice of bottles. The sirloin steak with peppercorn sauce, triple cooked chips, tomato and mushroom is rich and delicious.
