Hotel Review
Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht, Netherlands
Housed in a former 1970s library, a building echoing the classic canal house style with a modern perspective, this hotel represents a celebration of Dutch designer Marcel Wanders' very distinct vision. With chequerboard tables, reinvented Delft pottery and Amsterdam-referenced wallpapers, you feel you're almost in a Dutch Alice in Wonderland; it's exhilarating for many but not everyone's cup of tea. Perfectly located centrally within the historic canal district on one of Amsterdam's prettiest canals, the major sights, boutique shopping and a good choice of restaurants and bars are all nearby. The hotel has a cosy cocktail bar, a restaurant serving seasonal, locally sourced dishes, a tranquil spa, well-equipped fitness centre and striking artworks and interior design at every turn.
