Hotel Review
Lindeth Fell Country House, Bowness-on-Windermere, Lake District
This elegant country house, on the slopes above Lake Windermere, is more luxury hotel than guest house. Run with great charm and warmth by the Kennedy family, it offers all the right old-fashioned comforts but with a light contemporary touch and meticulous attention to detail. Public rooms, too, maintain the grace of a period house but with an informal feel. Spacious gardens and woodland, which are fun to explore or wildlife-spot, give you a feeling of privacy, and can be enjoyed just as much while tucking into afternoon tea in one of the sitting rooms. It makes a comfortable retreat for both active types and more gentle explorers.

Food & Drink
Dining in here is a real treat. Breakfast hits all the right buttons with freshly squeezed orange juice, Mrs Kennedy's home-made marmalade, soft boiled eggs and soldiers … you just have to smile. The supper plates are beautifully served, and the bar is handsomely stocked, including a good range of malts for winding down the evening.
Breakfast: everything from home-made granola and porridge to poached haddock, omelettes and the full grill.
Dinner: there's no regular evening meal, but it can be ordered if desired. Tradtional British cuisine.
