Hotel Review
Mandarin Oriental, Milan, Italy
A bastion of Milanese style, this five-star hotel represents everything that's good about the design capital of Italy; whether it's the dramatic black and white marble restaurant, or the embracing curved headboards on the beds, or the incredible Fornasetti suite, which is filled with some of the iconic designer's most in-demand pieces of furniture and decoration. You'll need to book a table in chef Antonio Guida's two-Michelin-starred restaurant Seta, because it's a popular hangout for local gourmands; or else enjoy classic Milanese dishes such as saffron-infused risotto or breaded veal in the bistrot. A couple of courtyards provide space for al fresco drinks and dining in summer and there's a subterranean spa with swimming pool, gym, beauty salon and hairdresser.
