WHAT WE LOVE...

A fabulously located hotel in which you can walk to the highlights of the cool, compact city of Reykjavík. With the historic family-run Sandholt Bakery just next door, the scent of sumptuous artisan baked goods permeates the air. The hotel itself is chic with a neutral colour scheme punctuated with colourful contemporary art sourced from famed art gallery Gallery i8. Although the restaurant only serves breakfast, the hotel bar just off the open-plan lobby is popular with guests and locals alike. Staff are friendly and eager to share insightful tips on where to go and what to see, then after a day exploring, you'll be happy to return to your calm, clean-lined boutique bedroom or suite.

We loved the food tour with Addý from 'Your Friend In Reykjavik'. She took us to the city's best dining destinations and we even tried the famed fermented shark.

Located on Laugavegur, the main shopping street in downtown Reykjavík, you'll also find the sculpture garden a short walk away.
By plane: direct flights from London to Reykjavík take 3 hours. The hotel is a 45-minute drive from the airport. skyscanner.net
