Hotel Review
The Running Horse Inn, Littleton, Hampshire
A welcoming country pub in the village of Littleton, just ten minutes outside the cathedral city of Winchester. Out back are 15 immaculate rooms with a rustic decor that includes painted wooden planks for headboards and shabby chic furniture. The pub is run by the local Upham Pub Company who have decided to stop brewing and focus on running their pubs, many of which have rooms. The house ale is the Runner, brewed by Penton park and there is also some Red Cat brewery offerings on tap and others from the Crafty Brewing Company. Locals love the food and won't let the twice baked cheese soufflé be removed from the menu. You can take long walks into the countryside directly from the pub car park.

Our favourite is Room 12, which is the last room in the row of superiors, and is quiet and surrounded by trees with access to the courtyard garden. We love the vase of fresh flowers on the windowsill, which fills the room with natural fragrance.
