Hotel Review
Hotel du Vin, Winchester, Hampshire
The very first property in the Hotel du Vin chain, this red-brick townhouse hotel epitomises all that is good about this witty, wine-loving brand. Situated just a stone's throw from the High Street, it nevertheless provides sanctuary with a pretty walled courtyard garden and even it's own small car park. Enjoy large period rooms with sumptuous styling and L'Occitane toiletries, Nespresso machines and soft fluffy robes. Sip an al fresco aperitif surrounded by fairy lights before dining in Gallic style with bowls of French onion soup or moules frites in the bistro. If you can tear yourself away, then the Gurkha museum, the Great Hall with an Arthurian round table, and Winchester Cathedral are all within walking distance of the hotel.
