WHAT WE LOVE...

Peace and quiet is guaranteed at the appropriately-named Salobre Hotel Resort & Serenity. Despite a Maspalomas address, this five-star hotel's a long way from the heart of the resort; on the non-coast side of the GC-1: Gran Canaria's M1. Lovers of golf will look forward to playing on the two 18-hole courses with buggies conveniently parked outside reception. Getting away from it all is easy enough at a hotel with one of the best wellness centres on the island. But if you fancy a day by the seaside, there's a free shuttle service to and from the beach at Maspalomas. A triumph of man over nature, this hotel has a growing reputation built on the foundations of a dry and arid landscape.
