WHAT WE LOVE...

Do you look good in bubblegum pink? There's plenty of it in this spirited waterfront hotel in Freidrichshain with wild, let's-play interiors by Karim Rashid. Opened in 2010 with over three hundred rooms, the nine-floor property features a dramatically cantilevered design and makes the most of its sun-trap position on the east bank of the River Spree. Firmly focused on being 'a hub for art and lifestyle', nhow Berlin embraces the neighbourhood music scene and includes a recording studio, stage, gallery and event spaces. While you'll need to walk, cycle or take transport to the city centre sights, the reward is being by the river (best in summer) and in a less-touristy part of town. What's more, the hotel has its own pink nail polish...
