Hotel Review
Hôtel Dame des Arts, Paris, France
Opened in January 2023, this former Holiday Inn is now a cool and fun hideaway set in a nine-storey 1950s building in the heart of the Left Bank. Owner EQ Hotels took three years to hone its style-savvy blend of happening restaurant, rooftop bar and 109 snug rooms, a third of which come with a balcony. Virtually every element is bespoke, created by award-winning interior designer Raphael Novat with a strong use of mixed woods, black metal framing and some 700 pieces of art sourced in Saint-Germain. High points include the innovative cuisine of head chef Othoniel Alvarez Castenada which fuses Mexican and Asian influences, a temple-like fitness studio and a private courtyard garden at the rear.

Style & Character
The hotel suits creative types drawn to the latest cool place to stay, foodies intrigued by the Mexican-Asian menu and couples who like the sound of a stylish Left Bank bolthole with a rooftop bar. The jigsaw-like floors on the ground floor are made with chunks of oak that have been charred then covered in resin.
Service & Facilities
The fitness studio is almost too beautiful to work out in, with a waved wooden roof and designer exercise equipment by Nohrd.

Food & Drink
Breakfast is a mellow affair with a generous buffet plus à la carte dishes such as huevos rancheros and avocado toast. We recommend the 'Una Mas' tequila cocktail followed by the red tuna tostada with fried leeks then pork ribs seasoned with achiote (a spicy paste).
The Restaurant: contemporary Mexican cuisine, sharing plates. Open daily for lunch and dinner.
The Rooftop: 360-degree city views, bespoke cocktails and champagne. Open daily, 6-11pm (weather dependent).
