WHAT WE LOVE...

Great for families or couples who want a relaxing holiday within a resort big enough to entertain and surprise. A plethora of pools and adults-only areas, restaurants which delight in local produce and one that sits on the beach serving fresh fish and offering sparkling sea views. Traditional dance shows and a street food market add to the holiday experience. The option of booking accommodation including the 'Haute Living' concept means you'll have 24/7 access to their members-only lounge where light food and drinks - including alcoholic - are always on offer. Perfectly located in elegant Elounda, take a speedboat to famed Spinalonga Island, the inspiration for a novel, or stroll from the hotel to nearby villages to soak up local Cretan life.

THE DETAILS

Location

A short speedboat ride away is the famed Spinalonga island - a former leper colony featured in Victoria Hislop's novel 'The Island' - historically fascinating and worth a visit.

Elounda is in the north of the island and has a colourful harbour. A 15-minute walk to Plaka Marina provides you with a traditional wooden boat trip to Spinalonga.
By plane: direct flights to Heraklion take around 4 hours from London. It's about an hour's drive to the hotel. Free parking available. skyscanner.net

Style & Character

Ideal for families, as there is much to experience and see with children and parents in mind. Couples would also be happy in the adults-only zones. The Greek Monsters sculptures were large, colourful and quirky, enticing children to learn more about Greek mythology from the blurbs next to them.

Service & Facilities

A couple of times a week there is a Street Food Dining experience, so guests can dine on delicious local delicacies. You can leave your children supervised by staff of an Ofsted standard, whilst they enjoy a range of activities from puppet shows and film nights to cooking lessons.

Food & Drink

A simple steak is sometimes all you need and the Josper charcoal-grilled Black Angus inside skirt, 150 days grain-fed, with skinny truffle fries was very tasty. The spicy mussels with white wine and spicy sauce vierge, served with grilled sourdough garlic bread, were sumptuous.

Thólos: main buffet restaurant, sea views. Open daily for breakfast and dinner.
Yaosai: Asian fusion restaurant and bar. Open daily for lunch (adults-only) and dinner.
Blend: trendy steakhouse restaurant. Poolside location. Open daily for lunch and dinner.
