Hotel Review
St Michael's Bistro, Painswick, Cotswolds
This welcoming guesthouse in the heart of Painswick serves as a great base to explore the Cotswolds and is the perfect midway stopover if you're walking the Cotswolds Way. It's run by well-informed hosts Matt and Magda, a friendly British-Czech couple who go out of their way to make guests feel at home. The five themed rooms are spotless, decorated in an eclectic mix of styles including Bohemian, Indian and Retro, painted in vibrant hues with eco-friendly paints and adorned with antiques and emporium finds. The popular ground floor bistro is a separate business run by a friendly Romanian couple, with Marin preparing hearty British dishes with an Eastern Europe flair and his wife Catalina serving at the tables.

Food & Drink
The ground floor bistro is a separate business from the guesthouse, run by a friendly Romanian couple. We loved the homely atmosphere and hearty dishes; try the Romanian sausages - they're succulent and packed with flavour. At breakfast homemade pastries are served in paper boxes, which you can take away with you to avoid food waste - perfect for an energising snack later in the day.
