WHAT WE LOVE...

It would be a tall call to find a more picturesque setting; in a prime position in the very heart of gloriously picturesque Chipping Campden, Cotswold House Hotel is the essence of honey-stone elegance. Its core is a landmark Regency building that adds to the considerable charms of the little town's handsome high street. Step inside and you're in a splendid hall complete with a welcoming fireplace in a lounge area. There's a restaurant on one side and a bar/bistro offering relaxing seating areas on the other. The main building gives on to a magical garden divided into semi-hidden spaces by cleverly-devised topiary. Follow the principal path fringed by well-planted beds to reach the neatly conceived spa, housed in a former coach house.

Style & Character

The hotel suits romantics, Cotswold enthusiasts, visitors with dogs and families (probably in that order). There's live music during afternoon tea at weekends - a sax player on Saturdays and a harpist on Sundays.

The hotel's own blend of spicy fig gin was delicious. We recommend the Barbary duck breast with juniper jus.
