WHAT WE LOVE...

City vibes and Cotswold chic marry at this sophisticated boutique hotel in the heart of Cheltenham. Interiors are stylish with quirky little touches here and there (think framed photos on ceilings), with dim lighting and hidden nooks and crannies perfect to hide away in for an intimate tête à tête. The happening, award-winning Gin & Juice is one of the city's most popular nightlife venues, with locals sipping gin-based drinks in a pumping atmosphere until late. By day, locals flock here to do a little people watching from the wrap-around terrace that offers al fresco dining in the summer months (there are marquees and heaters in winter). Rooms are handsomely decorated and ooze contemporary-cool vibes, with modern works of art, bespoke furnishings, and walls in moody blues and greys creating a cocoon-like ambience.

Rooms

The Superior Suite has a wrought-iron staircase leading down to a vast bathroom with free standing bathtub and double shower. We loved the (discreet looking) wall hooks all around - particularly useful to hang all manner of items, from towels to coats and bags.

There are various nooks and crannies perfect for hiding in at Gin & Juice. If the buzzing terrace is a little too loud, head for the snug area with its fireplace, or soak up the atmosphere in the bar. The bar was previously awarded Best Hotel Gin Bar.

No. 131 Terrace: terrace dining and marquee. Modern cuisine. All-day menu, open daily.
Yoku: Japanese sushi restaurant and cocktail bar. Open Mon-Sat for dinner only.
