The picture-postcard village of Port Isaac provides photo opportunities at every turn, with lots of eateries and delis stocked with fresh crab and Cornish pasties.

The hotel is a two-minute stroll from the beach and five minutes' walk from Port Isaac village.
By car: London is around 5 hours away, Bristol is 2 hours 40 mins and Plymouth 90 mins. Public parking is available nearby.

The quirky features of the Doc Martin room, with its coastal-inspired interiors, including a wall of nautical mirrors and large cushioned window seat, make it our favourite. We love the nooks and crannies, as well as traditional features such as low exposed beams, complemented by wingback chairs and large comfy beds.

Food & Drink

With zero food miles, the mackerel caught straight from the rocky cove is as fresh as food comes. The whole-baked lemon sole, cockles and clams with rainbow chard is delicious too, just add hand-cut chips with Cornish sea salt and a local gin.

The restaurant: 2 AA Rosettes, classic British dishes, local produce. Open daily for lunch and dinner. Mains from £16.
Pilchards Cafe: beachside cafe, modern European, tapas, seafood. Open for lunch and dinner. Small plates from £8.50.
