An upmarket hotel on the outskirts of St Peter Port that's full of character and joie de vivre. From the minute you walk into the black and white reception area you know you are somewhere a little bit different, continue through to the Leopard bar and restaurant and you'll find oversized animal-print chairs and safari art on the walls before coming to a large glass conservatory for sunny breakfasts and lunches. Outside is a sheltered heated pool and large terrace with plenty of seating. Rooms are all individually styled with a trademark Red Carnation fabric wallcoverings and you can choose which level of zaniness you can handle: either muted hues of creams and beiges or full-on black and white fleur de lis or nautical blue and white stripes.
Beau Sejour Leisure Centre is across the park and you can use the facilities for free when the hotel's pool is closed.
The hotel is in a peaceful setting beside leafy Cambridge Park. St Peter Port is a short walk downhill - and you can take the bus back.
By plane: flights from London Heathrow to Guernsey take around one hour 15 minutes. The hotel is a 15-minute taxi ride from the airport.
