WHAT WE LOVE...

You can't get any closer to the water than this Grade II-Listed public house which sits between the River Avon and Kennet and Avon Canal. Waterside rooms in contemporary greys and greens come with private terrace - the perfect spot for a morning coffee; the family pooch is welcome in these rooms too. A refurbishment in 2018 has brought the rooms on-trend with distressed timber walls and retro bedside cabinets. There's vegan bath products, king-sized or super-king beds and espresso machines in all rooms too. A huge riverside garden is perfect for summer al fresco dining - food here is superb. In winter, the cosy fire is the place to pull up a wingback chair and make yourself comfy.

This hotel suits families, couples and anyone who enjoys a casual relaxed ambience in nature and picturesque surroundings. We love the countertop in the bar which features a wonderful display of old shiny pennies all minted in 1967.

We loved having dinner in the garden with the sun shining, the ducks quacking and the hum of conversation all around. Your pooch is welcome in the River Rooms for £15 per dog. Beds and bowls available on request.

Food & Drink

We loved the array of breakfast options, particularly a tart berry compote, and scrambled eggs with delicious River Test smoked trout. Clams with grilled hake, samphire and fregola pasta are delicious - the fish and seafood tasting as though they've leapt straight off the boats.

The Dundas Arms: traditional British pub. Local produce, seasonal ingredients. Open daily, for lunch and dinner. Mains from £14.
